The Early Years

The Johnson Health Tech story began in 1975 in Taichung, Taiwan, when Mr. Peter Lo founded Johnson Metals. With nothing more than determination and handwritten letters, he secured his first client, Ivanko. What started as a modest manufacturing venture soon evolved into two decades of strategic investment and growth. During this time, Johnson emerged as a premier manufacturer for industry-leading fitness equipment companies like Ivanko, Ross, Trek and others.

1975–1979

The Early Years

The Johnson Health Tech story began in 1975 in Taichung, Taiwan, when Mr. Peter Lo founded Johnson Metals. With nothing more than determination and handwritten letters, he secured his first client, Ivanko. What started as a modest manufacturing venture soon evolved into two decades of strategic investment and growth. During this time, Johnson emerged as a premier manufacturer for industry-leading fitness equipment companies like Ivanko, Ross, Trek and others.

1980–1995

Fitness Manufacturing

Johnson Health Tech expanded its manufacturing business by partnering with top fitness brands like Ross, Universal, Tunturi, Schwinn, True, Omron and Mizuno. In 1993, JHT applied its expertise to producing exercise bikes for Trek Fitness, a division of Trek Bikes, solidifying its reputation as a trusted leader in fitness equipment manufacturing.

1996–2019

Vision Fitness

In 1996, Johnson Health Tech acquired the Trek Fitness division, launching Vision Fitness as its first in-house brand.

This milestone marked the beginning of JHT’s expansion, building on its strengths in international manufacturing, research and development, global branding, channel development and business management.

For over two decades, Vision Fitness set the standard for reliability, producing award-winning home and light-commercial fitness equipment recognized for quality and performance.

2019–2024

Vision Commercial Relaunch

In 2019, a dedicated focus on serving commercial customers began with the launch of a refreshed cardio lineup featuring an intuitive LED Console and a touchscreen Entertainment Console.

A collection of strength training equipment was introduced next in 2021, including a versatile functional trainer, further expanding the brand’s portfolio of comprehensive fitness solutions.

In 2024, the brand’s trajectory changed forever when it transitioned to full-commercial equipment. This pivotal shift featured the launch of 32 new cardio and strength products, including cycles, selectorized units, plate-loaded equipment and free weight solutions.

2025 & Beyond

A Vision For the Future

Today, Vision is entering its most ambitious growth phase yet, with more than 50 new products set to launch over the next year.

As a full-line commercial supplier driven by a bold, long-term strategy, Vision is rapidly expanding its distribution, broadening its lineup and reinforcing its commitment to providing quality fitness solutions for value-conscious buyers worldwide.
